As of June 27, 2016 Biddeford Housing has joined the Maine State Wide waiting list. In order to complete applications you can go to and complete an on- line application.  If you are not able to do so, call our office and we will provide other options for you to sign up.

This statewide system provides housing authorities with a simpler and less confusing method for tracking those waiting for housing vouchers and eliminates the need for clients to sign on to numerous lists. The Maine Centralized list allows clients to be on all the available wait lists simply by filling out one application.

Please know that our waiting list at this time is about a 4-7 year wait for local residents. We do not have any emergency funding here at Biddeford Housing.

To be eligible for the Section 8 Voucher Program you can not make more than the VERY LOW (50%) Income Limit for the given number of people in your family.   SEE CHART BELOW.

The on- line link to income limits is the following.

Application for the Waiting List

Download:  Download and print a pdf version of HCV application and return              completed application to participating housing authority.

Mail:    Contact participating housing authority to have an application              mailed to you

Pick-Up: Stop into any participating housing authority for copy of                    application.  Fill out while there or return at a later date

The Biddeford Housing Authority can not refuse any application. However, it is important to note that the Biddeford Housing Authority has a local preference of people who either live or work in Biddeford and Saco.

We send out updates to applications atleast once a year, somtimes twice a year. If we don't get the updates back we remove your name from the list, so it's VERY important that updates get returned back.

It is an applicants responsiblity to inform the Housing Authority of any address change. If your update gets returned by the post office,  you will also be removed from the list.
